Sales Agreement
Seller states that at the time of sale, the puppy is in good health to the best of Seller’s knowledge. Seller further states that the puppy has been examined by a licensed veterinarian before the time of sale, and will only be sold when declared fit for sale by the examining veterinarian. If any health issues or concerns have been found, they are noted below, and Buyer acknowledges being informed of these issues prior to the time of sale.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________
Seller has ensured that the puppy has received age-appropriate vaccinations before leaving for his or her new home. If being delivered over state lines, or flying on a commercial airline, Seller will provide Buyer with a Health Certificate completed by the examining veterinarian, at Buyer’s request, for an additional fee.
Buyer acknowledges that the puppy is still susceptible to contagious illnesses until they have received all of the recommended vaccinations, and accepts full responsibility for preventing the puppy from being exposed to locations potentially frequented by unvaccinated dogs until the time that they are fully vaccinated.
Buyer has three (3) days from the date of sale (the day that the puppy goes home with Buyer) to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian of his/her choice. If the puppy is found to have a hereditary disease that will greatly shorten the puppy’s life expectancy, or greatly decrease the puppy’s quality of life, Buyer may return the puppy within the three (3) day warranty period for a full refund. If, within the first year of the puppy’s life, he or she is found to have a hereditary disease that is expected to significantly decrease the puppy’s life expectancy, or great decrease the puppy’s quality of life, Buyer may be added to the end of the current waiting list at Buyer’s request, for another puppy of the same value from a future litter for no additional cost.
Buyer must contact Seller within the first year of the puppy’s life to inform Seller any such hereditary condition is found for the guarantee to be valid. In this situation, no money will be refunded, and the original puppy may be kept by Buyer if Buyer chooses. In either of these situations (the first three days, or the first year), proof of any health concern must be provided, in writing, by Buyer’s veterinarian within the first year of the puppy’s life, and Seller reserves the right to obtain a second opinion from another veterinarian of Seller’s choice, to confirm the diagnosis. If the diagnosis and hereditary cause is confirmed, Buyer will be provided with a new puppy at no additional cost.
Umbilical hernias are not covered under the guarantee; however, if Buyer shows proof that a hernia did not heal on its own by the time of spay or neuter surgery, Seller will refund forty dollars ($40), which is the price that Seller’s veterinarian has quoted to repair an umbilical hernia at the time of spay or neuter surgery. This reflects only if the hernia is repaired at the time of spay/neuter surgery, and all other costs associated with the spay/neuter will be covered by Buyer.
Buyer is responsible for the costs of all veterinary care and testing that the puppy may incur while in Buyer’s possession, regardless of the results of any testing.
Seller states that the puppy has received a minimum of their first round of vaccinations from a licensed veterinarian, and ahs been treated with Pyrantel for hookworms, whipworms and roundworms a minimum of one (1) time. Buyer agrees to screen the puppy and treat (if necessary) for intestinal parasites at least one more time while the puppy is younger than three (3) months of age. Seller does not guarantee that the puppy is free from intestinal parasites at the time the puppy leaves Seller’s possession (this includes, but is not limited to hookworm, whipworm, roundworm, coccidia and giardia).

Seller does not guarantee that the puppy is free from intestinal parasites at the time the puppy leaves Seller’s possession (this includes, but is not limited to hookworm, whipworm, roundworm, coccidia and giardia).
Buyer agrees to assume full responsibility of the puppy including, but not limited to, all veterinary care, feeding, grooming, socialization and training. Seller will in no way be held liable for the developing personality/temperament of the puppy. Buyer acknowledges that the permanent adult temperament is determined largely by the experiences that the puppy has in his or her new home after the age of twelve (12) weeks. Buyer further acknowledges that puppies/dogs and children must always be supervised when together, and Seller is not responsible for any injury that may happen to anyone, including the dog or owner.
This puppy has/has not received additional training (beginning crate training, beginning house-training schedule, beginning basic obedience training, etc.)
Buyer understands that beginning training is not formal training, and Seller is not a licensed dog trainer. Buyer understands that the purpose of beginning training in Buyer’s home is to give the puppy a head start in formal training.
The puppy will demonstrate any commands that he/she has learned but is no expected to always respond correctly to command given. Buyer understands that it is not always possible to teach all the commands to all the training puppies, due to a variety of factors, and Buyer will not be charged for any commands that the puppy fails to demonstrate either in person or on video. Buyer understands that the puppy will need future training, and is not considered house-trained.
If a beginning house-training schedule has been started, the puppy has spent a minimum of one (1) full weeks becoming accustomed to being in a crate and going outside to potty. Buyer understands that this does not mean that the puppy fully understands that he/she cannot go potty in the house, but rather that the puppy understands that he/she is supposed to go potty when taken outside.
Seller recommends the use of a crate in training, and will not be held responsible for any damages that the puppy may cause after leaving Seller’s possession. Buyer understands that a puppy should not wear any form of collar or harness while unsupervised in a crate.
Buyer acknowledges that the puppy is sold as a pet, and not as a breeding dog, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Buyer agrees not to breed the puppy, and Seller is in no way liable for the quality of puppies produced if Buyer breaks the agreement and breeds the puppy. If the puppy is bred, all the health guarantees are voided. If a breeding agreement has been reached, Buyer guarantees that any puppy resulting from a breeding from their Honey Creek puppy will be raised in their home, and the original puppy will be kept inside as a family pet. Buyer further guarantees that the dog will not be bred until she is a minimum of two (2) years old, or one (1) year old if a male, and not after they are six (6) years old, or nine (9) years old if a male. If Seller discovers that the puppy has ended up in a puppy mill environment, or is bred before the age of two (2) years, or after the age of six (6) years, or before one (1) year or after nine (9) years if a male, Buyer agrees that Seller has the right to reclaim the puppy.
Breeding rights are/are not granted: Seller Initials: _________ Buyer Initials: ___________
Buyer understands that Seller cannot guarantee or predict the puppy’s adult coat color, texture, furnishings, or the amount of shedding, or hypoallergenic qualities of the coat.
Buyer agrees to have the puppy spayed or neutered no earlier than six (6) months of age, and no later than two (2) years of age, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing, with an approved breeding agreement. Buyer understands that Seller recommends having males neutered by one (1) year of age, to prevent marking and other unwanted behaviors. Buyer agrees to consult with their veterinarian on the best age for spaying and neutering.
If at any point Buyer is no longer able to keep the puppy, Buyer agrees to give Seller the first option of taking the puppy back, before seeking to find the puppy a new home.
Buyer agrees to allow Seller to use any photos of the puppy that are emailed, texted, or posted on public or private social media sites, to the Seller’s website and/or business social media sites. Buyer grants Seller permission to post any such pictures at Seller’s discretion. Seller will not post any pictures that include any children’s faces, without blurring the child’s face, unless granted permission by Buyer. By signing this, Buyer agrees to everything in this contract.
